AWARDS

DBP was awarded the 2003 BEDA Scottish Interior Designer of the year award for the Castle Leisure commission in Perth (City) which had a Project expenditure of 3.5 million. The scheme involved the conversion of an existing High School building (listed cat B) into a Bar / Restaurant and night venue complex. The venue also received the BEDA 2003 Scottish night club of the year award. The Practice then went on to represent Scotland in the National awards ceremony in Birmingham in September 2003.

At the 2002 BEDA Scottish Awards ceremony Davidson Baxter Partnership were awarded Interior Designers of the year for their design work on the Circus Nightclub and Bar complex at Meadowside Dundee, for Dean Entertainments.

The Practice has also been awarded 5 Secured by Design awards for Residential Developments for both Kingdom Housing Association Ltd and Fife Special Housing Association for both new build developments, restoration and rehabilitation projects, these were:

• Saunders Street , Kirkcaldy. (Kingdom Housing Association Ltd) a developement of 27 flats and a day centre

• Tele Working Cottage Development at Burnside, Auchtermuchty. (Kingdom Housing Association Ltd)

• Conversion of a High Street Building in Leven. ( Fife Special Housing Association)

• New House Development of 18 House at Oakvale Road , Kirkland Walk, Methil. (Kingdom Housing Association Ltd)

• Bulding Coversion Project at Main Street Milnathort. (Kingdom Housing Association Ltd)

The wide variety of expertise offered by the practice highlights the Practices strength in depth, from small projects for individual Clients to large Commercial projects/restoration works.

The combination of both Architectural and Interior Design commissions over the life of the Practice has been central to the overall development of the Practice in both fields.

Projects are handled from inception to completion. The Practices skills in Project Management have assisted in developing a good Client base, with a strong site presence and supervisory role. This combined with the design skills highlighted give the Practice an overall design/supervision capability.
