Revolution formerly Century 2000 situated in Lothian Road, Edinburgh was a major Club Refurbishment Project for Scottish & Newcastle Retail, one of their mid 1990’s roll-out programme.
The prominent site commands and sits at the western approach to the City with the exterior transformed and lit with new signage to compliment the interior Fit-Out.
Substantial structural alterations were required to create a multi-level venue with 4 Large Bars, a VIP Bar /Gallery being designed. The upper gallery, utilising the previously tiered upper circle of the former Cinema, to create seating and viewing platforms linked to Bar 04.
Two major curved and radiused stair access and pod platforms were designed to link the main club space with the upper levels.
The VIP Gallery was designed to command uninterrupted views of the Club and dance floor(s).
The bar designs are modern with an industrial metallic feel, with lighting features built into the bar design elements.
The artistic decorative finishes commissioned as part of the interior fit-out, enhance the large ceiling vaulted space over the Club Dance spaces, complimenting scale and volumes and massing of the interior space.
The Project was awarded Discotheque of the Year in 1999 for the UK by BEDA. |
